Self Follow Up - The Possibility to Grow from Inside

Self Follow Up - The Possibility to Grow from Inside

The most uncommon thing therefore it is generally ignored what i call "self followup". I always believe that we don't follow up ourselves but all the time we do follow up of others. I mean, if i am a manager, i do follow up on my colleagues, team members and do follow up on super boss and if you are a parent, you do follow up with your kid for studies to every small thing and ask 101 questions until you get clarified and convinced about the subject or any specific tasks. Where as when it comes to our routines, our daily practices, our roles and responsibilities, goals in life etc, when some one asks for it, we tend to get dissatisfied or say, why do you point fingers at me. It is not pointing fingers at you but with your unfinished work, un full filled responsibilities or unfinished targets. How do we handle this? Simple. I believe that the easy and an effective approach is to  do self followup. It is a small initiative for high returns indeed. This is something which can transform anyone to some one special and from nowhere to notifiable personality over the period of time. I have 5 simple tools to follow up yourself every day and start the day with great feeling and end the day with sense of achievement. Give it a try for few days and share your experience with me.

1. BOD - Beginning of the Day Plan to myself (As soon as you get up , prepare this list mentally, sms it to yourself)
2. In Progress Update while hapenning (Keep triggering the progress status as part of the routine)
3. Finishing Review end of each task (feeling great every time when we accomplish the tasks )
4. EOD - End of the day review to myself by email (Write Your Success Story)
5. Prepare the list in the mind for tomorrow or next day, today (Script for next success story ie tomorrow)

Pl do not think that it is an additional burden. Simple Mobile based sms to yourself is more than sufficient. It is not reporting to your boss or anyone. It is for self regulation to yourself. Over the period of time, you don't have to follow this because it is now part of your routine. Now, you Walk the Talk.

Shall we ? Oh...Sorry i don't do follow up with you....:)
